This is my story - the honest version. No Filters, no influencer, just a bloke trying to figure life out on the road.
A decade ago I was clocking in, clocking out, and wondering, “Is this it?” Life felt small. Predictable. Like I was living the same week on repeat.
So in 2012, I did the one thing that scared me the most: I left Australia with a backpack, a one-way ticket, and the hope that somewhere out there I’d figure out who I was meant to be.
I didn’t just want to see the world — I wanted to challenge myself, grow, and build a life that felt like my own.

My Story: How Travel Changed My Life
What started as a simple escape turned into a life I never saw coming.
I’ve travelled to more than 100 countries, lived in the UK, Canada, Germany, Poland and Slovenia, backpacked through Southeast Asia, hiked the mountains of New Zealand, and campervanned across America’s west coast. I spent months wandering Africa, explored Central Asia, and lived years moving through Europe and the Middle East.
Every country gave me something. Every challenge shaped me. Every uncomfortable moment forced me to grow.
The boy who left Australia isn’t the man who returned.
And leaving is ultimately what made me realise how lucky I am to call Australia home.
Why Van Life in Australia Became My Path
I’ve campervanned in more than 20 countries, and realised nothing fits me better than living in a home on wheels. It’s the perfect mix of freedom and simplicity — full-time travel with everything you need behind a sliding door.
I knew I couldn’t go back to a permanent postcode or a “normal” life. It didn’t challenge me, it didn’t fulfil me.
So I built my own van — my dream home, my reset button, my way of living full-time on the road in Australia.
And the best part? I built it with my dad — a project that means more to me than the van itself.
Now I live full-time on the road, exploring Australia, telling stories, and giving this dream a proper crack.
What I’m Doing Now
This website is my travel diary — the good days, the lonely days, the breakdowns (mechanical and mental), and everything in between.
Here’s what you’ll find as you follow the journey: Honest stories from life on the road, The mental & emotional ups and downs behind van life, Travel inspiration for anyone craving something different, Van-life lessons, mistakes & things I wish I knew earlier, Photography woven through it all — still a big part of me, A genuine attempt to chase a dream, even when it’s messy - I’m not here to be an influencer. I’m here to be real.
If you leave this page thinking, “Mate… maybe I can start my own thing,” then this whole journey is worth it.
A Few Things That Make Me, Me
My happiest moments?
Sitting on a mountaintop with breakfast and a coffee at sunrise, or sparkling water and snacks at sunset. Simple. Perfect.
And after years of solo travel, my brain now produces strange questions like: “Have you ever seen a seagull in a tree?”
I believe everyone deserves to chase something that lights them up — even if it’s not travel. Even if it’s a veggie garden in the backyard.
