After that, a welcome dinner to get to know each other and concluded our first day.

Day 2 (Breakfast + Dinner)

Nothing says Slovenia more than Lake Bled! Our first location on day two will be shooting sunrise at Lake Bled either from the lower boardwalk or incredible panoramic viewpoint.

Viewpoint is a 20-30min incline before sunrise – medium fitness level required.

From here, we will walk back around the Lakes edge to capture unique images of Lake Bled, and it’s surroundings by using different focal ranges.

Lastly, sunset will be overlooking the Julian Alps from a viewpoint that requires no hiking.

Day 3 (Breakfast + Dinner)

Sunrise shoot at Jamnik Church, one of the most iconic churches in the whole of Slovenia!

Pericnik waterfall a truly unique location and a hidden gem of waterfalls in Europe. Requires a 25min incline walk to reach the viewpoint and walk behind the waterfall.

We are finishing the day at an alpine lake, Lake Jasna. A Lake that looks onto the Julian Alps a picturesque location to finish off an epic day of photography.

Day 4 (Breakfast + Dinner)

Lake Bohinj, the often overlooked but equally as beautiful (if not more). A glacier lake, surrounded by 2000+m mountains making this location a must for any photographer.

After that, we will venture to Mostnica Gorge to change our focus from epic vistas to details in the scenes.

Sunset will be another iconic church, one of almost 3000 churches in Slovenia. Sveti Tomaz, nestled on a hill with a mountainous background this yet again caps off another perfect day of photography.

Day 5 (Breakfast + Dinner)

Firstly on day five, sunrise overlooking Zelenci a natural spring with jawdropping 3000m mountains in the background.

Secondly, after sunrise, we will make the journey to the Soca region over the highest mountain pass in Slovenia. From here, we can access the Soca River, one of Europe’s most iconic rivers. We are focusing our photography at the Soca on long exposures, colour separation, and concentrating on enhancing the photos.

Finally, sunset is at Log Pod Mangartom a village nestled in the northern part of Slovenia.

Weather in Slovenia Winter?

January-March is the coldest months in Slovenia where you can expect snow in the valleys, frozen lakes and waterfalls if the weather conditions have been severe enough. During the Slovenian winter, we may battle against weather condition, but for these reasons, it’s also perfect for photography.

Advisement list of warm clothes throughout the workshop – top & bottom underlays (thermals), hat, gloves and over ankle hiking boots. Photographing in the valleys, or driving to higher altitudes in the National Park a heavy winter jacket may be prefered

Light to moderate walking during the workshop is optional, a recommendation of shoe crampons or shoe chains in icy conditions. (Can be purchased in Slovenia – other locations are optional if conditions are severe)
